Drawing the Truss

Make sure that the pivot is at the end of the line.

Then line up the four pitch on the common side of the speed square.  (There are two different readings on it.)

Make a mark at the end of the square on the underside.

Mark the line by connecting the dots.

Offset set your lines by making two marks above the line that are the correct distance away in connecting the dots to draw the thickness of the top chord. Also offset the bottom chord the correct thickness as well.

Draw a vertical line straight through the intersection of your top chords.  Draw an offset line the correct distance away from the center so that is symmetrical to finish out the shape of the king post.

Draw an offset line from the very end the correct distance for the overhang and draw a vertical line to finish out the end of the top cord.

Use your drawing to put marks on your sticks and then cut them out.

Use strips of paper and a very small amount of glue to put gussets on both sides. Do not glue it to the paper. It is your template because you need more than one.
